Junior CAD Technician

The company delivers design, manufacture, and installation services globally, working across sectors such as commercial, hospitality, and retail.

Role Overview

The Junior CAD Designer will support the design/Sales team in producing high-quality technical drawings and visual layouts for bespoke lighting and interior solutions. This role is ideal for someone early in their career looking to develop technical design skills within a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities Design & Drafting

• Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings for lighting systems, ceiling layouts, and bespoke fixtures
• Assist in developing technical drawings from concept through to installation
• Create detailed plans, elevations, and sections in line with project specifications
• Support lighting design layouts, including coordination with lux calculations and technical requirements

Project Support

• Work closely with senior designers, engineers, and project managers
• Amend drawings based on client feedback and internal reviews
• Ensure drawings align with manufacturing and installation requirements
• Maintain drawing registers and version control

Technical Coordination

• Interpret architectural drawings and integrate lighting/ceiling solutions
• Liaise with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility
• Assist with preparing technical submittals and documentation

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all drawings meet company and industry standards
• Follow internal QA processes and ISO quality requirements
• Support sustainable design considerations where applicable

Key Skills & Essential Experience

• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar CAD software)
• Understanding of technical drawing principles
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Desirable

• Experience with lighting design, interior systems, or construction drawings
• Knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, or 3D modelling tools
• Awareness of lighting products (LED systems, architectural lighting)
• Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
