Junior Buyer

Location: Heywood, ManchesterTemporary with potential to go perm 15.87ph An exciting opportunity has arisen for a junior buyer to provide support to operations for supply base development and total cost improvement. Our client has a reputation for producing high quality machines through engineering excellence, therefore, it is crucial for this role to ensure that the highest standards of supply, cost and quality are maintained at all times. Main Responsibilities Raise and manage purchase orders in accordance with business requirements and purchasing procedures. Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, order acknowledgements, and delivery updates. Expedite orders and proactively follow up on overdue deliveries to support production schedules and customer requirements. Monitor inventory levels and support stock replenishment activities to maintain material availability. Assist with sourcing activities, including identifying and evaluating potential new suppliers. Support the management of supplier performance by monitoring delivery and service KPIs. Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and purchasing data within the ERP/MRP system. Investigate and resolve purchase order, invoice, and goods receipt discrepancies in a timely manner. Work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Stores, and other internal departments to ensure material availability and effective supply chain performance.
