An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Junior Project Engineer with a background in BMS, controls or building automation to support the design and delivery of technically complex projects.
This role suits someone with experience as a BMS design engineer or controls engineer, and who is confident supporting projects from specification and design through to commissioning, handover, and completion.
The successful candidate will work closely with project, design, software, commissioning and installation teams, helping to deliver robust BMS solutions across mission-critical environments and complex building services projects.

Responsibilities
- Support the design, development and delivery of BMS and controls solutions from specification stage through to completion.
- Review mechanical, electrical, BMS and wider project specifications to identify design risks, technical gaps and areas of non-compliance.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including equipment schedules, points lists, interface schedules, commissioning documentation, functional descriptions, network topologies, method statements and target programmes.
- Assist with the creation and coordination of control strategies, graphics requirements, software information and project deliverables.
- Arrange and support factory acceptance testing for control panels, software and graphics.
- Work closely with project managers, design engineers, software engineers, commissioning engineers, electricians and external specialists to ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate commissioning information, as-built documentation and handover packs for inclusion within operations and maintenance manuals.
- Support technical problem-solving across design, installation, commissioning and handover stages.
- Maintain strong communication with clients, suppliers and internal teams, ensuring issues are managed professionally and resolved efficiently.
- Promote safe working practices and maintain high standards of quality, compliance and customer service at all times.
- Keep up to date with new systems, technologies and working practices to improve project delivery, energy efficiency and technical performance.
- Previous experience in BMS, controls, building automation or related building services environments.
- Strong understanding of BMS and controls design principles.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, panel drawings and project documentation.
- Understanding of mechanical systems, electrical interfaces and high-level system integration.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure, communications and CNS requirements.
- Training or hands-on experience with one or more controls platforms.
- Confident user of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, clients and suppliers.
