Salary: £27,000 p.a.

We’re looking for an Accounts Support Administrator to join a busy accounts team, providing essential administrative and data support across the department.
This is a great opportunity for someone with previous office or administration experience who is keen to develop their knowledge of accounts. Full training will be provided, with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across areas such as purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, invoice processing and reconciliations.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Accurately inputting and updating information across internal systems, databases and spreadsheets.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic records. Checking data and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Producing routine reports and information for the Accounts team. Updating spreadsheets, trackers and departmental records.
- Processing and uploading electronic documentation.
- Identifying missing information and following up where necessary.
- Providing day-to-day administrative support to the wider Accounts team.
- Assisting with routine accounts processing and administration.
- Obtaining information and documentation from other departments when required.
- Supporting customer and supplier documentation and routine enquiries.
- Answering incoming telephone calls in a professional and helpful manner.
- Monitoring shared email inboxes and ensuring enquiries are dealt with or passed to the appropriate team member.
- Providing administrative support during busy periods and holiday/absence cover. Maintaining confidentiality when handling financial and business information.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Accounts team. Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the department.
- Undertaking training and development to build your knowledge of Accounts and Finance.
About You
This role would suit someone who is organised, reliable and keen to learn, with a genuine interest in developing a career within accounts.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience in an administrative or office-based role.
- Experience of accurate data entry and maintaining electronic records.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Confidence using computer systems and spreadsheets.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A confident and professional telephone manner.
- The ability to follow established processes and instructions.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A positive, helpful and proactive attitude.
- A willingness to ask questions, learn and develop new skills.
Previous experience within an Accounts or Finance environment would be beneficial, as would experience using financial systems or Excel for reporting, but this is not essential.
Training & Progression
