Joint English and Maths Tutor - Hull

Kingston upon Hull
money-bag £20 - £30/hour
Posted Yesterday

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for a male tutor in HU7, Hull!

At Prospero, we work with local authorities to arrange 1:1 tuition for students accessing alternative provision.

The vast majority of our tuition referrals are for English and Maths. A lot of our students are working below expected age range, and the delivery of learning will be at a KS1 - KS3 level.

When and where will you be tutoring?

Our tuitions can be held in a number of places:

  • Within schools
  • Within public places (libraries, community centres, etc)
  • Within students homes

At all of the above locations, there will always be an appropriate adult present for your tuition sessions. This will be the students parent, carer, or guardian, meaning you''ll never be left alone with a student.

Our tuitions take place within school hours, 9am - 4pm, and our clients are very flexible on timings. When a role becomes available, well come to you as the tutor to set timings for when you''d like to take on the hours.

With our tuition roles, you do not need to be a qualified teacher. We usually ask that you have some form of higher education.
We''d also expect candidates to have some prior experience within education; at least 4 months working in a school or educational setting.

Details about role:

Location: HU7, within the students home.
Start Date: September 2025.
End Date: Ongoing
Hours: 6 hours per week.
Pay: GBP20 - GBP30 per hour.
The Role: English, Maths and PSHE (independent / life skills, socialisation and mentoring) tuition for a Year 10 male. Students SEN status is SEMH, so experience within this area is desired. Student is working below ARE in both subjects and has an EHCP which you''ll have access to once you''re confirmed for the role.

Due to the preferences of the student, the tutor for this role must be male. However, we have a lot of other referrals for students in Hull, so please don''t hesitate to apply if you''re interested in tuition as a whole!

To get started as a tutor, you''ll need to register with Prospero Teaching!
