Salary: -35,000 - -40,000 DOE
Location: Sidcup, Kent
Working Hours: Full Time, Permanent

The Company

Our client is a successful and growing international manufacturer, supplying specialist products to customers across multiple global markets.

With ambitious plans for continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Joinery & Assembly Operative to join their production team and play a key role in assembling high-quality timber door sets.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in assembly, joinery, carpentry or woodworking who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality products.

The Vacancy

Working from the company''s production facility in Sidcup, as Joinery & Assembly Operative, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently assembling timber door sets and associated components in line with manufacturing drawings, specifications and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities for Joinery & Assembly Operative

  • Assemble timber door sets and associated components to specification.
  • Route and prepare doors for hinges, locks, keeps, vision panels and other ironmongery.
  • Use woodworking hand and power tools, including routers, chisels and drills.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, job specifications and production instructions.
  • Accurately measure, mark out and prepare doors for assembly and fitting.
  • Carry out in-process and final quality checks.
  • Ensure completed products meet required quality and dimensional standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Work as part of the production team to achieve daily and weekly output targets.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Joinery & Assembly Operative, or from a joinery, carpentry, woodworking, shopfitting or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Confident using routers, chisels, drills and other woodworking hand and power tools, with experience in bench joinery or workshop carpentry.
  • Able to read and follow technical drawings, job specifications and production instructions.
  • Experience with fire-rated door sets and ironmongery preparation would be advantageous, including fitting locks, hinges, closers, vision panels and seals.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
  • Reliable, hardworking and positive, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good understanding of health and safety within a workshop or production environment.
