Contract Duration: 2+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 17.01 per day

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform joinery repairs, renovations, and maintenance tasks across residential properties, schools, and public buildings, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
2. Undertake new joinery installations, including first and second fix joinery work (e.g., fitting doors, skirting boards, window frames, staircases, partitions).
3. Interpret detailed technical drawings and specifications to accurately complete assigned tasks.
4. Use initiative to resolve minor on-site technical issues, and consult with supervisors or management when necessary.
5. Manage and maintain stock levels within the assigned vehicle, ensuring necessary materials and tools are available to maximize efficiency.
6. Work within a scheduled appointment system, including direct interaction with tenants, property occupants, or school staff, maintaining a professional and courteous approach.

Person Specification:
Essential Criteria:

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent trade qualification)
• Proven experience in both 1st and 2nd fix joinery work
• Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Good organisational skills, including managing tools and materials effectively
• Valid UK driving licence (if role includes mobile working)
• Familiarity with health and safety standards and safe working practices

Desirable Criteria:

• Previous experience working in a public sector or housing maintenance environment
• Valid CSCS card
• Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, or Manual Handling certification
• Experience using mobile work management systems or job scheduling tools
