Overview
We are seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Developer to join a large-scale technology programme within the financial services sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modern enterprise applications, working across both backend and frontend technologies in a fast-paced Agile environment.
This role offers the opportunity to work on business-critical systems, leveraging cloud-native technologies, microservices architecture, and modern development practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based microservices using Spring Boot.
- Build responsive and intuitive front-end applications using Angular or React.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to support enterprise-wide applications and services.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, developers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Ensure application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.
- Support deployment activities and contribute to CI/CD initiatives.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing application support.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend continuous improvements.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Proven experience developing RESTful APIs and Microservices architectures.
- Experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of Git and modern version control practices.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD tools including Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Understanding of API security frameworks including OAuth2, JWT, and Keycloak.
- Experience working within Banking, Financial Services, or Capital Markets environments.
