Java Engineer

About The Role FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Java Engineer- Equities to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 12 with the potential to extend and will be a Hybrid role that will be based in London. Our client is seeking an experienced Java Engineer to join a front-office technology team supporting its Equities business. The successful candidate will work on the development and enhancement of real-time trading applications, combining strong hands-on Java engineering experience with a good understanding of equity trading workflows. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with technology teams and front-office stakeholders in a fast-paced trading environment. Responsibilities: Design, develop and enhance Java-based applications supporting equities trading. Build scalable, resilient and high-performance solutions for real-time trading workflows. Develop new functionality and enhance existing trading platforms. Work closely with front-office stakeholders and technology teams to gather requirements and deliver effective technical solutions. Diagnose complex production issues and implement robust, permanent fixes. Build, test and deploy software across development, QA and production environments. Contribute to application performance, scalability, stability and resiliency. Participate in code reviews, automated testing and performance tuning.
