Java Backend Developer

Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer to join a high-impact public sector programme, In Backend Development, you will play a key role in modernising Middleware systems, migrating Java EE libraries, and delivering robust integrations using modern Java technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale, mission-critical systems in a collaborative Agile environment. Note: Candidates must hold active SC clearance or be eligible and willing to undergo SC clearance. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain Back End services using Java 17/21 and Spring MVC Lead and execute Java EE library migrations and Middleware upgrades Work with Oracle 19C for database development and optimisation Develop and support SOAP and REST integrations to ensure system interoperability Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions Contribute to technical decisions, problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives Required Skills andamp; Experience Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of Back End application engineering experience Strong expertise in Java Back End development and Middleware technologies Hands-on experience with Java 17/21, Spring MVC, Oracle 19C, SOAP/REST services Experience working in Agile delivery environments Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills ..... full job details .....
