Java Application Developer

A leading organisation within the Energy and Utilities sector is seeking an experienced Java Application Developer to support the delivery of business-critical applications within a modern cloud-native environment. 520 p/d Inside IR35Mainly Remote (1 day a week in London, the rest is WFH)6 month+ contractIn the role you will design, develop and support scalable backend services using Java, working within a microservices and event-driven architecture.Key responsibilitiesDevelop backend services using Java.Build and support event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.Deliver scalable microservices-based applications.Participate in design, development, testing and deployment activities.Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.Support cloud-native deployments and production environments.Contribute to Agile delivery and continuous improvement.Essential skills and experienceStrong commercial Java development experience.Hands-on Apache Kafka experience.Experience with microservices architectures.Understanding of cloud-native development.Experience working in Agile teams.Ability to support and optimise production applications.Desirable skills and experienceOpenShift experience.Containerisation and cloud deployment technologies.CI/CD and DevOps knowledge.Experience within large-scale transformation programmes.If you''re a Java and Kafka SME and are interested in this role, click ''apply now'' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or send a copy of your CV to Hays ..... full job details .....
