The Role

• Act as the first point of contact and internal champion for the Synchro ERP system, supporting users, maintaining data integrity, and liaising with the ERP provider on updates and issues.
• Support the set-up, configuration and ongoing maintenance of new software, hardware and shop floor devices across the business.
• Support and maintain the Keyence vision inspection system, including basic configuration, calibration liaison and troubleshooting, and support its roll-out across all sectors of the business.
• Provide first-line support for shop-floor PCs, scanners and network connectivity, escalating anything touching the PLCs or other control systems to the relevant machine supplier or specialist controls contractor.
• Develop and maintain connectivity between machines, systems and the Company network.
• Support the Company''s move towards greater plant connectivity, helping bring data from the site''s PLCs and shop-floor equipment into IT systems such as Synchro ERP and Power BI, and identifying areas for improvement.
• Support the business''s move towards automation, including the programming of robots, and assist the maintenance team with the implementation of automated systems.
• Install and maintain shop floor visual display screens, ensuring quality documentation and production information is accessible and current.
• Support the roll-out of Power BI across the business, building initial dashboards and reports and working with departments to identify reporting needs.
• Act as the link between internal IT needs and the Company''s external IT support provider, providing first-line troubleshooting and briefing and managing the external provider where an issue needs to be escalated to them.
• Lead and complete allocated IT and technical projects, keeping stakeholders updated on progress.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of systems, configurations and network set-up.

About You

• Good IT literacy and a genuine interest in computer systems, networks and industrial technology.
• Willingness to learn new software and systems, including ERP and vision inspection, and how the site''s shop-floor systems connect together.
• Good communication skills, with the confidence to work with people across the shop floor and office.
• A logical, methodical approach to problem-solving and fault-finding.
• Ability to plan and prioritise workload across multiple projects.
• A relevant qualification in IT, Computer Science, Electronics or Engineering is desirable but not essential - recent college leavers are encouraged to apply.
• An interest in automation and robotics is an advantage, though full training will be given.
