We''re working with a well-established organisation in Leeds that is looking to add an enthusiastic IT Support Technician to their growing support team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their IT career, whether you''ve recently completed an IT-related degree, apprenticeship, college course, or you''re simply a technology enthusiast who enjoys building PCs, troubleshooting hardware, and learning new technologies in your spare time.
You''ll join a team of four IT professionals responsible for supporting around 400 users across 25 UK sites, providing a fantastic environment in which to learn, develop and gain hands-on experience across a broad range of technologies.
The Role
As an IT Support Technician, you''ll provide first-line and second-line support to end users, helping to resolve a variety of hardware, software and IT-related issues.
Key responsibilities will include:
Providing IT support to users via phone, email and face-to-face
Diagnosing and resolving desktop, laptop, hardware and software issues
Setting up and configuring new user devices
Supporting Windows-based environments
Assisting with user account administration and access requests
Escalating more complex technical issues where appropriate
Maintaining accurate records within the IT service desk system
Supporting IT projects and technology rollouts across the business
Occasionally travelling to company sites if required
About You
We''re open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds. You don''t need years of commercial experience, but you should have a genuine interest in technology and a desire to build a long-term career in IT.
You may have:
An IT-related degree, apprenticeship or qualification
Previous experience in a Service Desk, Helpdesk or IT Support role
Built or repaired your own PCs or laptops
A strong personal interest in technology and troubleshooting
Experience gained through education, placements, volunteering or personal projects
You''ll ideally have:
A good understanding of Microsoft Windows
Knowledge of PC and laptop hardware
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred)
