Overview
Our superb client with offices based in Huntingdon are seeking an IT Manager to join them on a permanent full time basis working Monday to Friday, 9am - 5.30pm. This role will be a hybrid position following training and induction so you must live within an hour of Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2–3 years of experience in IT support who is ready to step up and take ownership in a broad and varied role.Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day technical support to internal users via ticketing system, calls, and on-site visitsManage the full software and hardware life-cycle: Identify and implement AI tools to improve efficiency, while ensuring ethical and secure useConfigure, install, and maintain IT equipment and user accounts (Windows, Office 365, etc..)Support on-boarding/off-boarding processes including device setup and recoveryEnsure IT infrastructure is secure, reliable, and well-maintainedDocument and escalate incidents, including cybersecurity threats, as per protocolMaintain backup, recovery, risk, and archive strategiesAssist with updates, routine maintenance, backups and internal IT projectsHelp define and uphold internal IT standards, procedures, and user expectationsQualifications
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar IT support or hands on management roleDegree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experienceSolid knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, basic networkingExperience with Active Directory, Exchange, and ITSM/ticketing platformsExposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Share Point)Experience with AI tools and implementationStrong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skillsProactive, self-motivated, and able to work independentlyAbility to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical usersCustomer-focused with excellent attention to detailBenefits
