IT Manager

A growing engineering consultancy and advanced manufacturing business is seeking an IT Manager to take ownership of its IT infrastructure, systems and cyber security. The company designs and manufactures battery packs, electronics and charging systems for the marine, industrial, automotive and defence sectors, and this role will build a secure, scalable IT environment to support its continued growth.
 
The IT Manager will be responsible for:

• Developing and delivering the company''s IT strategy, roadmap and budget.
• Managing IT infrastructure, including networks, cloud services, hardware and Microsoft 365.
• Leading cyber security, including achieving and maintaining Cyber Essentials Plus.
• Supporting engineering and manufacturing systems such as CAD/CAE, PLM and ERP/MRP.
• Overseeing backup, disaster recovery, data protection and ISO compliance.
• Managing IT suppliers and service providers and shaping the company''s approach to AI.

 
The IT Manager will have:

• 5-8 years'' IT experience, including responsibility for IT within an engineering, technology or manufacturing organisation.
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience, ideally including Azure, Entra ID and Intune.
• Solid knowledge of networking, firewalls, endpoint management and cyber-security controls.
• Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience managing IT suppliers, licences and support contracts.
• The ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users and senior management.
