Woodland Partners are delighted to be working exclusively with this large global Insurance group in the search for their new IT and Data Manager. Reporting into the COO the role will oversee all IT infrastructure, systems support, and data governance across the UK Companies. This role will ensure the systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with regulatory and business needs—enabling effective underwriting, reporting, exposure management and Solvency II expectations.Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure and Service Management

— Work with service providers and Group IT team to oversee delivery of IT services and infrastructure ensuring high system availabilityIT Platforms

— Oversee core platforms including policy administration systems (e.g., Sequel Eclipse), accounting systems, exposure/cat modelling platforms, and data lakesUser support

— Support users with technical issues and software provisioningVendor governance

— Own relationships with third-party IT providers and ensure effective SLAs and licensing complianceData Management, Governance and Reporting

— Define and oversee the data governance framework, including data ownership, lineage, quality, and retention policiesData flow

— Ensure accurate, timely, and secure data flow between underwriting, finance, actuarial, and regulatory functionsAnalytics

— Collaborate with underwriting and actuarial teams to develop dashboards, MI tools, and self-service analyticsSecurity, Compliance and Risk

— Maintain IT policies covering information security, access control, and data protection (GDPR)Monitoring

— Monitor and report on cyber resilience, vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and IT risk assessmentsRegulatory compliance

— Ensure compliance with PRA/FCA technology and cyber risk requirementsProject and Change Management

— Lead IT and data-related change initiatives (e.g. systems upgrades, data warehouse development, API integration)Onboarding

— Support onboarding of new systems, products, and process automationQualifications

Degree in Computer Science, IT, or Data ScienceMinimum 7 years in IT and/or data management within the insurance or financial services sectorStrong understanding of London Market Insurance systems and regulatory data requirementsProven track record in implementing or supporting data governance, MI, or reporting systemsSeniority level
