Inventory and Cost Accountant

Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading manufacturing company based on the Wirral to recruit an experienced Inventory and Cost Accountant. Reporting to the Site Controller, the Inventory and Cost Accountant will have end-to-end responsibility for the accuracy, reconciliation and financial control of raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods inventory. Responsibilities Include: End-to-end inventory reconciliation, ensuring physical stock, ERP records and financial positions are accurate. Lead cycle counts and stock takes, investigating discrepancies and implementing controls to prevent recurrence. Manage customer-owned inventory, ensuring accurate tracking, reconciliation, valuation and reporting. Monitor material movements from receipt through production, consumption, conversion, sale, return and replacement. Analyse material consumption, production yields and inventory variances, working with Operations to identify root causes and corrective actions. Reconcile inventory, purchase and sales transactions with customer commitments, invoicing and financial ledgers. Develop and maintain robust ERP/database reporting, reducing reliance on manual spreadsheets and ensuring a single source of accurate inventory data. Support standard costs, BOMs, routings and inventory valuation processes. Establish and maintain effective inventory controls, segregation of duties and a robust monthly inventory close process.
