Technical Support – Intruder Alarms

Location: Near Fareham, Hampshire (Commutable from Portsmouth, Southampton, Waterlooville)

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (Depending on experience) + Benefits

Position: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Company

Our client is a well-established and growing Fire & Security company with an excellent reputation across the South. Due to continued expansion, they are now looking to bring on a technial support specialising on intruder alarms to join their friendly team near Fareham.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with some basic intruder alarm knowledge who is keen to build a long-term career in the industry, with full training and support provided.

The Role

This is a training-focused position where you will learn how to support engineers and customers with intruder alarm systems. Working alongside experienced team members, you will gradually develop your technical knowledge and confidence.

You will become a key part of the support team, assisting with troubleshooting, system queries, and day-to-day technical support tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide basic technical support to engineers over the phone, with guidance from senior staff
• Assist customers with general system queries and simple fault issues
• Support with remote system checks and basic programming tasks
• Help log and escalate technical issues where required
• Learn to fault-find and resolve issues across a range of intruder alarms
• Maintain accurate records of support calls and actions taken

What We Are Looking For

• Some knowledge or exposure to intruder alarm systems 
• A genuine interest in building a career within Fire & Security / Electronic Security
• Good IT skills and willingness to learn new systems and software
• Strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner
• Positive attitude, reliability, and eagerness to develop
• Ability to work well as part of a team
