Intervention Tutor - Immediate Start to July
Location: New Malden / Kingston / Richmond
Pay: -140 - -195 per day
Timings: Full Time, Mon - Fri
A rewarding opportunity has become available for a dedicated and adaptable Intervention Tutor to join a supportive specialist setting from ASAP through to July, with strong potential for extension for the right person.
This role is ideal for someone with solid experience supporting children with SEMH and SEND needs, as well as a broad background in delivering tailored tutoring or intervention work, particularly with low-level learners. Whether you''ve supported pupils in PRU environments, provided SEMH mentoring, or delivered personalised academic support across a range of subjects, your experience will be highly valued. If you are confident delivering targeted interventions, adapting learning approaches, and supporting students working towards EHCP outcomes, we would be keen to hear from you.
About the Role / Expectations
Deliver targeted small-group and 1:1 intervention sessions that support academic, social and emotional development.
Use creative, flexible approaches to engage learners working below age-related expectations.
Create a calm, structured and nurturing environment that supports progress and builds confidence.
Promote communication, interaction and independence, helping pupils express themselves and engage positively with others.
Support emotional regulation and resilience, contributing to improved well-being and readiness to learn.
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external professionals to maintain a consistent, supportive learning environment.
Build strong, trusting relationships with students, families and colleagues, contributing to a welcoming and inclusive school community.
Requirements
Experience supporting children or young people with a range of additional needs.
Background in PRUs, SEMH mentoring, or working with low-level learners is highly desirable.
Confident adapting activities and approaches to meet individual needs and EHCP targets.
Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and inclusive practice.
A current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
