Job description: Are you passionate about helping young people re-engage with education and reach their potential? We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and resilient Intervention Tutor, English to join an established alternative education provision in the Middlesbrough area. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate, experienced teaching assistant, tutor, cover supervisor or education professional who has a strong understanding of English and is confident supporting secondary-aged students with challenging behaviour and barriers to learning. The Role: As an Intervention Tutor, you will work closely with secondary-aged students who are accessing education within an alternative provision setting. Your primary focus will be English intervention and supporting students to make progress with their literacy and wider learning. You will work within the classroom and provide targeted support to help students engage positively with their education. The role will involve: Delivering and supporting English-focused intervention with secondary-aged students Supporting students to develop their literacy, reading and written communication skills Working with individuals and small groups where appropriate Building positive, professional relationships with students Encouraging students who may have become disengaged from mainstream education Managing behaviour confidently and consistently Establishing clear boundaries and expectations Working alongside teaching and support ..... full job details .....
