Job Description
SRG are looking for an internal and external communications intern for a leading agrochemicals company based in Bracknell. This is an exciting role at the heart of our UK Corporate Affairs team, supporting the delivery of internal and external communication activities across the organisation in the UK. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic communications and public affairs environment, contributing to campaigns, content creation, and stakeholder engagement. Ideal for someone looking to build a career in communications or public affairs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Internal Communications
- Content Creation & Design: Assist in drafting and publishing internal news stories, announcements, and newsletters, ensuring clarity, brand, tone, and consistency.
- Support the coordination of internal events, town halls, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Help maintain communications channels such as SharePoint and Teams and ensure information is up to date and engaging.
External Communications
- Contribute to the creation of content for social media, websites, report, position papers, consultation responses and press releases.
- Work with agencies in the production, filming and editing of AV material and support the development of visual printed and online assets.
- Support the delivery of external engagement events including showcases, visits and roundtables.
Policy Monitoring & Analysis
- Monitor relevant UK political developments through our monitoring platform (PQs, debates, select committees). Summarising key political updates in the form of briefings for leaders.
- Maintain awareness and share internal and external activities and stories that will be of relevance and impact our companies UK population.
Administrative & Project Support
- Maintain communication calendars and assist with scheduling and logistics.
- Help manage photo and video content libraries and storage of physical communication assets.
- Assist with ad hoc tasks and projects as required by the UK Corporate Affairs team.
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Communications, Marketing, Media, Politics, Public Policy, International Relations, English, Science, Geography or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft platforms (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint).
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to learn.
Desirable:
- Interest in science, politics and policy, corporate communications, and stakeholder engagement.
- Awareness of UK political institutions and policy making process.
- Familiarity with online media and social media platforms.
