A growing, design-led sustainability consultancy is looking to hire an Intermediate - Senior Sustainability Consultant with a strong focus on Whole Life Carbon (WLC) and Circular Economy.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 3-5 years'' experience who wants to take real ownership of their work, lead on projects, and play a key role in shaping low-carbon design strategies across a diverse portfolio.
The Opportunity
You''ll be joining a collaborative team working closely with architects, developers and engineers on projects across commercial, residential, education, healthcare and heritage sectors.
The role offers a strong focus on embodied carbon and circular economy, with the chance to:
- Lead WLC and Circular Economy strategies from early design stages
- Influence material choices and design decisions
- Work directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams
- Broaden your skillset into building physics and wider sustainability services (if of interest)
This is an ideal move for someone who enjoys both the technical side of carbon analysis and the consultancy side of influencing design outcomes.
What You''ll Be Doing
- Leading and delivering Whole Life Carbon (WLC) assessments
- Developing Circular Economy strategies and advising on reuse and low-carbon materials
- Producing reports to support planning and design decision-making
- Working closely with design teams to drive practical, low-carbon solutions
- Attending and contributing to client and design team meetings
- Supporting wider sustainability services across projects
Optional (depending on experience):
- Delivering building physics / energy modelling (IES-VE)
- Supporting Part L compliance, overheating analysis and thermal comfort studies
What They''re Looking For
- 3-5years'' experience in a sustainability or environmental consultancy
- Strong experience delivering Whole Life Carbon assessments
- Good understanding of Circular Economy principles in the built environment
- Experience using tools such as OneClick LCA (or similar)
- Ability to manage and deliver work independently
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with design teams
Nice to have (not essential):
- Experience with IES-VE / building physics modelling
- Knowledge of Part L, TM52, TM59 or thermal comfort
- Familiarity with BREEAM or other frameworks
