The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a high-performing commercial team working on an established SGN contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with experience in the utilities or civil engineering sector, particularly someone with a strong understanding of NEC contracts, subcontract management and high-volume works.
The role will play an important part in ensuring the commercial success of the contract while supporting the delivery of sustainable and future-focused infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate weekly revenue and cost reports
- Control and monitor submissions of daily completed works
- Produce and manage Schedules of Rates
- Reconcile subcontractor costs and prepare payment certificates
- Liaise closely with Operations and Planning teams to monitor job progress
- Identify and manage changes in scope
- Review scheme works to ensure commercial and operational targets are on track
- Price completed jobs across high-volume works
- Analyse weekly and monthly cost and revenue data
- Monitor commercial performance and identify potential risks and opportunities
- Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure data integrity
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
- Experience delivering NEC contract schemes
- Strong subcontract management experience
- A background within utilities, gas, civil engineering or infrastructure
- Experience working within a high-volume commercial environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive approach with a positive attitude
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Experience mentoring or developing junior commercial colleagues would be advantageous
Microsoft Excel proficiency is essential.
You should be confident using:
- Excel formulas
- Pivot tables
- VLOOKUPs
- Data analysis and reporting
