Intermediate Mechanical Engineer - Manchester - Up to -40,000

I''m working with an established MEP consultancy to help them grow their new Manchester office. They''ve got a long-standing base in Liverpool and are now building out a Manchester team, and I''m looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join them.

My client works across residential, energy from waste and 5.5-star NABERS-rated offices, with live projects across the North West, the Midlands and London. They take on complex, high-value schemes - MEP values ranging from -5M up to -20M - including work in tight, service-heavy spaces where the engineering is genuinely challenging.

What stands out to me about this business is how seriously they take progression. Every level has a clear route forward, and their development reviews are competency-based, covering projects and much more, so you always know what you need to do to move up.

The role

You''d be joining a growing Manchester team, working alongside an Associate Director. You''ll get real exposure across RIBA stages 3 to 5, through detailed design and into as-built stages, on projects that are varied and technically interesting rather than repetitive.

Every project runs through Revit, so this suits someone already confident with it, or someone keen to properly upskill if you''re not there yet. They''ve also got in-house digital engineering and sustainability teams (SAP, SBEM, TM59), so there''s room to broaden out from core mechanical design if that''s of interest longer term.

What they''re looking for

• Intermediate-level mechanical engineering experience, ideally from an MEP consultancy or contracting background
• Confidence working through detailed design into construction stages
• Working knowledge of Revit, or a genuine willingness to get there
• Someone who wants to be part of building a team, not just joining one that''s already fixed
