This role is to join an established firm of design highly successful established firm of consulting design engineers, specialising in mechanical and electrical services design across the built environment.  They work on some really high profile projects across the UK with leading architects, designers and contractors and have an excellent reputation for delivery, quality and reliability of their services.

This company design and specify the mechanical and electrical services for a range of buildings, although their primary sectors are data centres and residential.

Naturally they have an emphasis on sustainable, low carbon design.

Responsibilities

• Dependent on your experience level you will carry out tasks alone or with support/mentoring from an experienced senior electrical design engineer.
• Take the Clients brief along with responsibility for the technical fulfilment.
• Attend project meetings with Clients and other Design Team Members, Contractors etc.
• Carry out condition surveys, feasibility studies, report writing etc.
• Carry out site surveys for projects, to obtain all relevant information required for carrying out scheme design.
• Carry out detailed scheme designs enabling competitive tenders to be obtained for the works.
• Write specifications for the works.
• Correspond with other design team members and the client on technical issues.
• Carry out calculations, both manual and by using computer-based systems.

Experience Required

• Building Services Degree, Electrical Design Degree or other related higher educational qualification (HNC/HND)
• Preferably chartered or working towards chartership.
• Experience within a building services design role in a consultancy environment.
• Experience is likely to be of 3 - 5 years and include calculations, drawings, specifications.
• Due to the nature of some projects you must be a British passport holder.
• Hold a full UK driving license
