Interior Architect / Designer

Overview

Interior Architect / Designer role at BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group. BIG is a multidisciplinary group with offices in Copenhagen, New York, London, Barcelona and Los Angeles. We are looking for a candidate to join the London team, supporting the Senior Interior Designer and project teams across all stages from competition to construction. The position requires a relevant qualification in Architecture and/or Interior Design, with interior design industry experience, ideally with hospitality and/or cultural projects in the Middle East.Responsibilities

Support the Senior Interior Designer in working with project teams across all stages from competition to construction.Demonstrate strong conceptual design ability on defined areas of large projects or entire small-scale projects.Produce accurate drawings with advanced understanding of interiors, building systems, specifications, construction techniques and finishes.Develop design concepts through technical strategies and research design.Prepare concept design documentation, construction documentation and construction administration.Coordinate FFandE elements, including material selection and specification schedules.Assist in preparing client concept presentations.Demonstrate strong organization, communication, multi-tasking, and teamwork aligned with BIG’s culture.Qualifications and experience

Professional degree in Architecture, Interior Design or a related field.3-6 years of post-qualification experience as an Interior Architect / Designer, with experience on projects in the Middle East.Experience with hospitality and cultural projects is highly desirable.Proficiency in Rhino, Revit, AutoCAD, V-Ray, Enscape, and Adobe Suite.Strong conceptual, design and graphics skills.Experience with technical detailing, construction documentation and construction administration.Ability to resolve technical and design challenges through innovative thinking.Knowledge of products, materials, suppliers and construction methods.Experience in coordinating project stakeholders, local authorities, approving bodies and sub-consultants.Ability to develop design options in collaboration with the design team.Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (spoken and written); professional proficiency in Arabic is a plus.Diversity and equal opportunity
