Interim Year-End Accountant

Robertson Bell are supporting a large, complex, organisation based in South Essex to recruit an Interim Year End Accountant. This person will work closely with the Head of Finance through a critical period and take lead on much of the work required to deliver timely and accurate statutory accounts. This is a hybrid role with the option to work across a couple of office locations, ideally three days per week although there is flexibility on this if required. The contract is expected to last at least three months. Key responsibilities will include:Leading on the delivery of the year-end process in conjunction with the Head of FinancePreparing statutory accounts and supporting disclosuresActing as the primary contact for external auditors and managing audit requestsPreparing audit working papers and supporting schedulesEnsuring balance sheet reconciliations and controls are maintainedPreparing and submitting VAT returns to HMRCManaging partial exemption calculations and associated reportingSupporting accounting across the organisation and its trading subsidiary entitiesIdentifying opportunities to strengthen financial controls and processesThe successful candidate will:Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Have proven experience delivering statutory accounts and year-end processesHave experience acting as a key contact throughout external auditsHave experience preparing and submitting VAT returnsIdeally have exposure to partial exemption ..... full job details .....
