Interim Technical Manager

Our client, a leading food manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join the business on a 3-month contract offering up to -500 per day depending on experience. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the company''s Technical, Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety and Environmental functions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and supporting the continued delivery of high-quality products.

Working closely with senior leadership, customers, suppliers and operational teams, you will be responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, managing audits and certifications, driving continuous improvement initiatives and leading a small technical team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the site''s Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
• Maintain BRC and customer certifications.
• Oversee HACCP and food safety compliance.
• Act as the main technical contact for customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies.
• Lead audits, investigations and corrective actions.
• Manage Health & Safety and Environmental compliance activities.
• Support continuous improvement projects across the site.
• Lead, develop and support the technical team.
• Provide technical guidance to Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and NPD teams.

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous Technical Management experience within food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety and quality systems.
• Experience managing audits and industry certifications.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
• A food-related qualification and HACCP certification would be advantageous.
