Interim Senior Legal Counsel | UK Supply/Construction Company | 12-month FTC | Remote or Office

Job DescriptionTaylor Root is working with a distributor and merchant of building products. They''re looking to take on an Interim Senior Legal Counsel, who can be with them from October for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.This is a role which is providing general corporate and commercial legal support across the UK business. Responsibilities will include:Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of commercial contracts;Developing contract templates and policy documents and keeping these up to date;Providing timely and accurate legal advice and support to the business on a range of matters, including liaising with colleagues from other functions within the UK business such as IT, Finance, Property, HR and claims management;Ensuring TandCs are reviewed and are aligned throughout the business;Managing a number of contentious matters, including liaising with external counsel;Identifying risk to the appropriate internal stakeholders and proactively helping to manage and mitigate that risk;Assisting other functional leads in maintaining legislative and regulatory compliance throughout the various business units, including construction products, data protection, health and safety, business ethics, and anti-corruption and bribery;Keeping up to date with changes to law and regulation, conducting research into these changes, and communicating any relevant requirements to the business;Maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders;Maintaining the UK’s register of trademarks;Liaising with insurersKey Requirements:UK qualified solicitor, or solicitor qualified in another common-law jurisdictionIdeally, at least 5+ PQEAny experience within the building space would be useful but not essentialConfidence in dealing with a broad range of issuesExcellent drafting skills and experienceCollaborative approachStrong stakeholder management ..... full job details .....
