Interim Private Sector Housing Officer

We''re currently working with a Local Authority in Hampshire who are looking to appoint an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer on an interim basis.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy and supportive team, playing a key role in improving housing standards across the borough and ensuring compliance within the private rented sector.The Role: You will be responsible for delivering a range of private sector housing functions, including enforcement, inspections, and supporting landlords and tenants to meet regulatory standards.Key Responsibilities:Carrying out inspections under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)Investigating complaints relating to housing conditionsTaking enforcement action in line with relevant legislation (including improvement notices, prohibition orders, and civil penalties)Licensing of HMOs and ensuring complianceWorking closely with landlords, tenants, and external partnersSupporting the council in meeting its statutory housing obligationsRequirements:Proven experience working within Private Sector Housing for a UK Local AuthorityStrong knowledge of housing legislation, including the Housing Act 2004Experience using HHSRSConfident in enforcement and case managementExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsIf you''re an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer available for your next interim assignment, we''d love to hear from you!E: (url ..... full job details .....
