Interim Principal Financial Accountant 6 month contract 500 - 550 per day Hybrid working - 2 days a week in the London office About the clientMorgan Law are seeking an interim Principal Financial Accountant for a Local Authority in the London area. AccountabilitiesAssisting and motivating a team delivering accounting, systems and capital finance activitiesMaintaining robust financial controls and oversight of key financial processesProviding clear, practical advice to senior Finance leaders in a rapidly changing public-sector environmentSupporting the timely preparation and production of the Council''s Statement of AccountsBuilding strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the Council, Council entities and with the External AuditorProviding technical advice and support to both finance and non-finance stakeholders across the CouncilMaintaining control of the Council''s Balance Sheet to ensure the on-going financial resilience of the Council Candidate RequirementsQualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) (E)5 years experience as a Financial Accountant in a local authority setting and a deep knowledge of statutory accounting requirements (E)Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalImmediately available for work Campaign TimelineThis is an urgent post and is open until filled.
