Interim Payroll Accountant

As an Interim Payroll Accountant with a large, yet growing business, you''ll oversee payroll processes and ensure accuracy in financial reporting for the organisation in Chippenham. This temporary role is key to keeping payroll functions running smoothly and supporting the accounting and finance department.

Our client is a well-established organisation with a reputation for operational excellence. Due to a period of change within the finance team, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant to provide interim support.

Description

* Ownership of payroll accounting activities across the finance function.

* Preparation and review of payroll journals and associated reporting.

* Completion of payroll-related balance sheet reconciliations.

* Support month-end, year-end and audit requirements.

* Review and investigate payroll variances and reconciling items.

* Ensure strong financial controls and compliance procedures are maintained.

* Partner with payroll, HR and finance stakeholders.

* Maintain accurate documentation and support process improvements.

* Provide guidance and support to junior team members where required

Profile

A successful Interim Payroll Accountant should have:

* Experience within a Payroll Accountant, Financial Accountant or Management Accountant role.

* Strong understanding of payroll accounting, journals and reconciliations.

* Proven month-end and balance sheet reconciliation experience.

* Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

* Strong Excel and financial systems knowledge.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job Offer

* Day rate up to -250 per day all in, depending on experience.

* Hybrid working arrangement (2 days in)

* Immediate start available.

* Initial interim contract with potential for extension.
