Interim Operations Manager - Taxi Licencing Birmingham (Hybrid Working) £450-£500 per day (Inside IR35) Initial 6-month contract (with potential extension) A large local authority is seeking an experienced Interim Operations Manager to lead its Taxi Licencing function, ensuring the effective delivery of statutory licencing services while driving operational performance, compliance and customer service excellence. The Role Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for leading a team of Taxi Licencing Officers, overseeing the end-to-end licencing process for drivers, vehicles and operators. You will ensure services are delivered efficiently, consistently and in line with relevant legislation, council policies and service standards.Key responsibilities include: Managing and developing a team of Taxi Licencing Officers and support staff. Ensuring compliance with all relevant taxi and private hire licencing legislation and guidance. Driving service performance, productivity and continuous improvement initiatives. Managing complex licencing matters, escalations and appeals. Reviewing and improving processes, procedures and customer experience.
