The Opportunity
Cherry Professional is delighted to be supporting a large, multi-site education organisation in the appointment of an experienced Interim Head of HR / HR Director.
This is a pivotal leadership role requiring an experienced HR professional who can provide strategic and operational leadership across a sizeable workforce. Working closely with senior leaders, you will lead a small HR team while managing a varied and demanding people agenda.
This is a fast-paced environment requiring credibility, resilience and the confidence to advise senior stakeholders on complex employee relations, organisational change and workforce planning matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational HR leadership across a large, multi-site organisation.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and site-based leadership teams.
- Lead and develop a small HR team, ensuring an excellent service is delivered across the organisation.
- Manage complex employee relations and casework, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters.
- Lead on the review, development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Support organisational change initiatives and workforce planning projects.
- Provide guidance on employment law and best practice.
- Work closely with leadership teams to drive employee engagement and organisational performance.
- Support matters relating to pension schemes, restructures and TUPE transfers where required.
We are seeking an experienced senior HR professional who can quickly establish credibility with senior stakeholders and operate effectively within a complex organisation.
You will have:
- Significant experience in a Head of HR, HR Director or equivalent senior HR leadership role.
- Experience within the education sector, ideally within a multi-site environment.
- Strong employee relations and case management experience.
- Proven experience of policy development and implementation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach with the ability to balance strategic and operational priorities.
- CIPD Level 7 qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Experience of pensions and/or TUPE would be advantageous.
