Interim Financial Accounting Lead

Axon Moore are supporting a large international manufacturing business with the appointment of an Interim Financial Accounting Lead, based in North Yorkshire. The successful candidate will take ownership of the end-to-end accounting activities for the UK entity, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting whilst maintaining compliance with UK statutory, tax and regulatory requirements. This is a highly visible role within an international organisation and will work closely with Group Finance, external advisors and a wide range of internal stakeholders. The key roles and responsibilities for this person will include: Ownership of the UK entity''s end-to-end accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reportingCoordinating the monthly and half-yearly financial close process in line with Group reporting deadlinesEnsuring accounting activities comply with UK GAAP, IFRS and Group accounting standardsActing as the UK subject matter expert for VAT compliance, including accurate VAT accounting and timely submission of VAT returnsManaging relationships with HMRC, external auditors, tax advisors and other regulatory bodiesCoordinating statutory audits and ensuring the timely preparation of statutory financial statementsEnsuring compliance with Group Internal Control standards, identifying financial and compliance risks and implementing appropriate controlsSupporting both internal and external audit programmesWorking closely with colleagues across the wider ..... full job details .....
