Job Title: Interim Finance Manager
Location: Reading
Contract: Temporary - ASAP start until end of October
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8AM - 4PM (flexible start / finish times available)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Interim Finance Manager to support on a temporary basis, starting as soon as possible and continuing until the end of October. This is a key role supporting the school''s leadership team, ensuring accurate financial management and reporting during a busy period.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on month-end processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review the profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
- Manage and reconcile accruals and deferred revenue.
- Provide clear financial reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and relevant regulations.
- Support the wider finance team and provide guidance as needed.
Person Specification
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager, ideally within education sector
- Strong knowledge of month end, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
- Hands-on experience managing accruals and deferred revenue.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
