Interim Finance Director

Sheridan Maine are seeking an Senior Finance Director to undertake a tax and VAT project, with a particular focus on international transactions and export activities.
The successful candidate will have strong technical VAT knowledge, international trade experience and the ability to review existing processes, identify risks and implement practical solutions to ensure compliance and improve financial controls.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:

• Review tax and VAT processes, compliance and reporting
• Assess VAT treatment of international sales, exports and cross border transactions
• Review export documentation and supporting evidence
• Identify VAT risks, discrepancies and potential exposures
• Recommend and implement process improvements
• Liaise with internal teams and external tax advisers
• Deliver project findings and recommendations within agreed timescales

The successful applicant will have the following skills & experience:

• Proven track record in senior finance roles
• Strong knowledge of VAT legislation and compliance
• Demonstrable experience in international trade and exports
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and deliver a defined project

A relevant finance or tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA or equivalent experience) is essential.
