Interim Finance Director

INTERIM FINANCE DIRECTOR | SME MANUFACTURING | BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT & TURNAROUND

We are seeking an experienced, commercially focused Interim Finance Director to join an established SME manufacturing business.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a hands-on assignment focused on improving financial performance, driving operational efficiencies, maximising profitability and strengthening the overall finance function.

The successful candidate will be someone who can quickly get under the bonnet of the business, challenge existing practices, identify areas for improvement and, most importantly, implement meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake a comprehensive review of the business''s financial performance, processes and controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins, reduce costs and maximise profitability.
- Drive improvements in cash flow, working capital and stock management.
- Review manufacturing costs, operational efficiencies and financial reporting.
- Strengthen budgeting, forecasting, management information and financial controls.
- Streamline existing processes and introduce practical, sustainable improvements.
- Work closely with the CEO to develop and execute a clear financial and operational improvement plan.
- Deliver measurable results while establishing a stronger financial platform for future growth.

About You:

- Proven experience as an Interim Finance Director or CFO within an SME environment.
- Strong manufacturing sector experience is essential.
- Demonstrable track record of business improvement, transformation or turnaround.
- Commercially astute, analytical and confident challenging the status quo.
- Comfortable operating both strategically and operationally, with a genuinely hands-on approach.
- Able to assess situations quickly, prioritise effectively and deliver results at pace.
- A pragmatic, no-nonsense individual who can build credibility with the CEO and wider leadership team.
