The Interim Estates & Facilities Manager will lead the day-to-day operation, maintenance, compliance, and development of the school estate, ensuring a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role involves managing contractors, budgets, health and safety requirements, planned maintenance programmes, and all site services to support the effective running of the school.

Description
- Lead the operational management of the school site and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes and reactive repairs.
- Oversee contractors and service providers, ensuring high standards of performance and value for money.
- Manage facilities budgets and monitor expenditure.
- Develop and implement estate improvement and sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure security, cleaning, grounds maintenance, and waste management services are effectively delivered.
- Act as the lead contact for site-related emergencies and business continuity planning.
- Support school events and activities, ensuring facilities are available and operational.
- Maintain accurate records relating to compliance, inspections, certifications, and maintenance activities.
Profile
A successful Interim Estates & Facilities Manager should have:
- Experience managing facilities, estates, or property operations within a school, education, public sector, or commercial environment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and statutory compliance requirements.
- Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and service-level agreements.
- Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, fire safety, security, electrical, and mechanical services.
- Strong budget management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- IOSH, NEBOSH, IWFM, or similar professional qualifications (desirable).
- A proactive and customer-focused approach.
Job Offer
- A salary of -50,000 - -55,000, dependent on the level of experience.
- Temporary contract in London.
