As we deliver the next phase of our strategy, we are establishing a new Senior Leadership Team to ensure we have the leadership, systems and financial resilience needed to increase our impact for nature. We''re looking for an experienced and strategic finance leader to join us as Director of Finance & Business Support.
Working closely with the CEO, Trustees and colleagues across the organisation, you will help ensure that we are financially sustainable, operationally effective and equipped to deliver ambitious plans for nature, climate and people across North Wales.
While this is initially a 6-month interim appointment, there is potential for the role to become a permanent full-time position as the Trust continues to grow and develop its long-term organisational capacity. We therefore welcome applications from candidates who are excited by both the immediate challenge and the opportunity to help shape the future of the organisation.
We anticipate a presence in the Bangor office will be required as a priority as the team you will be managing are based there. We do offer hybrid working so there will be the opportunity to work from home or our Aberduna, Mold offices too.
About the role
Leading our Finance and Business Support functions, you will provide strategic oversight of finance, administration, IT, facilities, property and organisational systems.
A key priority will be strengthening our financial planning and controls, supporting long-term sustainability and helping embed a new finance system across the organisation. You will also play a central role in supporting organisational growth, improving business processes and ensuring the infrastructure behind the Trust is fit for the future.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with practical delivery and who wants to use their professional expertise to help create a wilder, more resilient North Wales.
We''re looking for someone who:
- Is a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
- Has substantial senior finance leadership experience within the charity, public or environmental sectors
- Can provide strategic financial insight and challenge to support effective decision-making
- Has experience of organisational change, systems improvement and continuous development
- Is comfortable working with Trustees, Committees and senior stakeholders
- Can lead and develop high-performing team.
- Brings strong commercial awareness alongside a commitment to the Trust''s mission and values
- Is motivated by the opportunity to help a purpose-driven organisation grow its impact
Why join us?
This is a rare opportunity to join the Senior Leadership Team of a respected conservation charity at a pivotal moment in its development.
You''ll play a key role in ensuring the Trust has the financial strength, systems and organisational foundations needed to deliver its ambitions over the years ahead. In return, you''ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to nature recovery, climate action and community engagement across North Wales while working alongside passionate and committed colleagues.
