Interim Clerk of Works

Your new companyHays are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Clerk of Works to join our client''s Housing Services team within a London-based local authority. As a Clerk of Works, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of housing maintenance works across the residential portfolio.Your new roleMonitor and inspect housing maintenance and repair works, ensuring compliance with specifications, regulations, and health and safety standards.Liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of works.Maintain accurate records of site visits, inspections, and progress reports.Identify and report on defects, poor workmanship, or non-compliance issues.Support the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance programmes, including voids, kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, and external works.Ensure residents'' concerns are addressed and that works are carried out with minimal disruption.What you''ll need to succeedProven experience as a Clerk of Works or similar role within housing maintenance or construction.Strong knowledge of building regulations, health and safety legislation, and construction standards.Excellent communication and reporting skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites.Relevant qualifications (e.g., CIOB, ICWCI, HNC/HND in Building or Construction) are desirable.What you''ll get in returnFlexible working options available.Long-term contract opportunities.Competitive daily ..... full job details .....
