Interim Category Specialist

Sue Ross Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well-established international organisation in the Sheffield area who are seeking an experienced Interim Category Specialist to join their Procurement team for a period of approximately 12 months. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with strong contract management, negotiation and supplier relationship skills to support a busy organisation through a period of change and development. Reporting to the Procurement Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a range of procurement categories, supporting contract lifecycle management and ensuring the business receives maximum value from its supplier relationships. Key responsibilities will include: Reviewing expiring contracts and leading tender, RFQ, benchmarking, extension and negotiation activities. Working closely with internal stakeholders to develop procurement strategies and support contract award decisions. Drafting, reviewing and amending contracts in conjunction with legal teams. Managing supplier relationships and conducting regular performance review meetings. Monitoring contract compliance and ensuring contractual obligations are met by all parties. Identifying opportunities for cost savings, added value and process improvements. Producing procurement reports and analysing spend, demand and usage data.
