Interim Building Surveyor

Location: Surrey Contract: Interim - 3 months (with potential to go permanent) Working Pattern: 4 days per week office-based Sector: Local Authority / HousingThe RoleA Local Authority in Surrey is seeking an Interim Building Surveyor to join a small, supportive team to assist with a busy repairs and disrepair workload. This is a hands-on role focused on surveying, inspections, and contractor liaison, with a strong emphasis on responsive repairs and disrepair cases.There is a possibility for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out site inspections on properties a few days per weekReview and interpret Scott Schedules / Scot Reports and disrepair reportsPrepare clear instructions and scopes of work for contractorsPass works to contractors and monitor progressLiaise with contractors to ensure works are completed to required standardsSupport the team with technical input on repairs and disrepair casesProvide professional advice on building defects and remedial solutionsMaintain accurate records and updates following inspectionsAbout YouQualified or experienced Building Surveyor (public or private sector background welcomed)Proven experience dealing with repairs and housing disrepairConfident carrying out inspections and diagnosing building defectsComfortable reviewing Scot Reports / Scott SchedulesAble to communicate clearly with contractors and internal teamsHappy working as part of a small, collaborative teamAvailable for an initial ..... full job details .....
