Interim Accountant

Interim Accountant, 6 Month FTC Medway Paying up to £60k FTE DOE We are recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Interim Accountant to join their finance team for a 6 month fixed-term contract. This role will support the Financial Controller and play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong compliance, and timely delivery of month-end and statutory requirements. You will take ownership of regional accounting activities, ensuring financial information is recorded accurately and deadlines for reporting and tax submissions are consistently met. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, along with supporting and mentoring junior members of the finance function. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax legislationReview and approve weekly payment runs and bank paymentsMonitor cash balances and produce monthly cashflow forecastsRecord salary transactions and ensure statutory payments are made on timePrepare and submit corporate tax, employment tax and VAT returnsLead balance sheet reconciliations and support the month-end close processAssist with audit requests and statutory reportingSupport accounts assistants with guidance and training as requiredContribute to process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives The Ideal Candidate Part-qualified ACCA / CIMA ACA (or equivalent)Minimum 3 years'' experience in a similar senior accounting roleStrong tax knowledge ..... full job details .....
