Day Rate: £450–£550 per day

Role Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Integration Engineer to support and develop integrations between healthcare systems and third-party applications. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge interoperability technologies and contribute to improving healthcare workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and support integrations between healthcare applications and third-party systems.
- Configure and maintain integration engines (Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, InterSystems Ensemble, or equivalent).
- Map and transform HL7 v2.x messages (e.g., ADT, ORM, ORU) and support HL7 v3.
- Build and maintain modern FHIR-based RESTful APIs for healthcare data exchange.
- Troubleshoot, monitor, and optimise live interfaces in production environments.
- Collaborate with clinicians, vendors, and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Document integration designs, workflows, and support processes.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of HL7 v2.x, HL7 v3, and FHIR interoperability standards.
- Hands-on experience with integration engines such as Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, or InterSystems Ensemble.
- Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#/.NET for scripting and interface development.
- Experience designing and consuming REST/SOAP APIs (JSON, XML).
- Solid understanding of healthcare workflows and clinical systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, EMIS, SystemOne, or equivalent).
- Strong SQL/database skills for data transformation and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with healthcare data security protocols and compliance frameworks.
