Insurance and Risk Manager

We are recruiting an Insurance and Risk Manager on an initial 4 weeks'' contract. Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to work on-site 3 days per week. Main Purpose of the Job Provide professional management of the insurance and risk function and advice on all insurance related matters to ensure an effective service. Manage the procurement of the Councils Insurance contracts. Maintain the corporate risk register and work with Managers to mitigate and reduce risk. Key Responsibilities Corporate Ensure our customer service and delivery is excellent and continually improves. Take responsibility for ensuring that the Council''s decisions and policies are implemented. Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations and that the highest standards of probity and good conduct are always maintained. Uphold the governance mechanisms, ensuring appropriate standards of performance, operational effectiveness, probity, safeguarding, risk management, safety, equality and open government are maintained. Participate in projects to achieve the most effective services possible for the community, partners and the Company Uphold the Company''s values and behaviours and proactively promote these across the corporate family and in any partnership working. Service Take the lead in all insurance matters including the development and procurement of the Company''s insurance programme.
