About the Role

An Instrumentation Test Technician is required in Gloucester for a permanent position, with a salary range of £26,000 to £42,000 per annum. This role involves working within a comprehensive in-house test facility, focusing on precision engineering and electronic data acquisition. You will be responsible for building and administering data acquisition systems, configuring software such as NI LabVIEW and DASYLab, and conducting rigorous test validation. Practical experience with instrumentation including pressure sensors, accelerometers, flow meters, loadcells, and thermocouples is essential. The position also requires cable routing, soldering at connector and PCB level, and proficiency with digital multimeters and oscilloscopes. This is a hands-on role suited to a technician with strong electrical and electronic testing capabilities.

Electronic Instrument Test technician with good all round precision engineering electronic data acquisition, test validation and verification experience required to join a comprehensive in house test facility. Component and product, instrumentation, electronic / electrical testing experience ideally in a very practical precision design environment.
Key skills
Data acquisition system build and administration to experiment, collect data and calculate results.
Set up, configure data acquisitions system software, example NI DAQ, NI LabVIEW, DASYLab.
Instrumentation use including:
Pressure sensors
Accelerometers
Flow meters
Loadcells
Thermocouples.
Cable layout and installation route cabling
Soldering skills at connector and PCB level
Digital multi meter (DMM) and oscilloscope knowledge.
Environmental testing.
Inverters, 3 phase motors and programmable Logic controller knowledge.
