Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 + Benefits

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a practical, solutions-focused engineer to join a specialist technical services team supporting the installation, servicing, and maintenance of commercial laundry and warewash chemical dosing equipment on cruise ships worldwide.

This is a hands-on, field-based role suited to an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, working in varied environments, and delivering a high standard of customer service in challenging and international settings.

The successful candidate will spend approximately 75% of their time working onboard cruise ships, with deployments typically lasting 2–4 weeks, followed by time off in lieu.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, service, maintain and repair chemical dosing equipment for commercial laundry and warewash systems onboard cruise ships
• Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, safety checks and repairs on installed systems
• Work with electrical and plumbing systems within a marine environment
• Support onboard installation projects alongside project managers, engineers and contractors
• Prepare equipment, consumables and materials required for field deployments
• Complete accurate service reports and technical documentation in a timely manner
• Provide technical support and basic training to customers and end users where required
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers through professional service delivery

Skills and Qualifications:

• City & Guilds 17th Edition Electrical Installation qualification or equivalent electrical background
• Proven experience in a hands-on or field-based engineering role
• Experience working with 3-phase electrical systems
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and repair skills
• Confident working independently and as part of a wider technical team
• Good organisational and communication skills with a customer-focused approach
• Willingness to travel extensively and work away from home for extended periods
• Experience in commercial laundry, warewash, dosing systems or plumbing would be advantageous
