Installation Engineer
Margaretting, Essex
£15 per hour (40 hours per week)
Our client is a specialist supplier of flags, flagpoles and associated services including flag flying services, installation, hire services, inspections, maintenance, repair and laundering services for high profile, ceremonial Royal events as well as the public and private sectors.
As an Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for site surveys, installations, inspections and maintenance of flagpoles and associated equipment. You will often work at height, operate cherry pickers and liaise with clients and the public. This is a hands-on role requiring reliability, professionalism and a strong safety focus.
Successful applicants must be able to pass a security vetting process due to the sensitive nature of many projects.
Responsibilities:
- Installing flagpoles on the ground, from the side of buildings and on rooftops
- Driving company vehicles to and from client sites
- Working at height using mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP)
- Painting or cleaning to improve cosmetic appearance of flagpoles
- Perform safety checks to ensure working parts are in good order
- Replacing internal mechanisms
- Undertaking close-up visual inspections of flags and the poles
- Liaising with colleagues and members of the public
Essential Skills / Experience:
- Working at height
- Full, manual driving licence
- A good team player
- The ability to work with little supervision
- A kind, confident and professional character
- Reliable and a good timekeeper
- The ability to build strong working relationships
