Inquest and Civil Litigation LawyerA leading public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Inquest and Civil Litigation Lawyer to join its in-house Legal Services team, providing specialist expertise across coronial law, inquests, and associated civil litigation.You will provide expert legal advice, manage legal risk, support transparency and organisational learning, and ensure robust handling of sensitive proceedings.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage inquest and civil litigation cases from instruction through to conclusion.Provide specialist legal advice to senior leaders on complex, sensitive, and high-risk matters.Ensure compliance with coronial law, civil litigation procedures, and human rights obligations, including Article 2 considerations.Manage disclosure processes, evidence preparation, and coordination of multi-agency legal responses.Represent the organisation in legal proceedings and support counsel where required.Advise on litigation strategy, risk mitigation, and settlement considerations.Identify learning from legal outcomes and support improvements in organisational practice.Work collaboratively with Legal Services, operational teams, and external stakeholders to ensure effective case management.Support associated civil claims arising from inquests and related proceedings.Essential CriteriaApplicants must demonstrate:Qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with a current practising certificate.Significant experience ..... full job details .....
